The Flora Kikyo residences are located on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City in the urban area of Nam Long. With outdoor pools, BBQ areas, and green spaces, the apartments are designed for occupants to fully enjoy the natural landscape surrounding their home. The buildings were developed by Vietnam’s Nam Long Investment Corporation, but are designed in the flora Japanese style with the inspiration of Japanese investors Hankyu Realty and Nishi Nippon Railroad. The Flora Kikyo apartments are named after Japanese bellflower native to East Asia. The Japanese style and floral inspiration create an elegant atmosphere that optimizes natural light and air.
The 15-floor Flora Kikyo building, designed by Ardor Architecture, contains 234 one and two-bedroom units. With external shading devices, low-flow showerheads, and more, the resource-efficient apartments allow residents to reduce both their carbon footprint and utility bills.
With over 25 years of experience, Nam Long Investment Corporation seeks to use effective designs to optimize space for residents in their housing development projects, which have housed over 10,000 families. The company was established in 1992 as the first non-state developer in Vietnam.
In order to promote energy-saving and energy efficiency in construction projects and green building development, the Department of Science, Technology, and Environment (Ministry of Construction) proposed to develop and issue policies to provide incentives for projects that promote energy saving and efficiency, for projects certified as green buildings. The Flora Fuji apartment of Nam Long investor in Ho Chi Minh City was a model green building, with reduced wall to window ratio, use of external shading structure, highly reflective paint, wall and roof insulation, high heat resistance index for glass, energy-saving lighting .... all to reduce energy costs by 22.96%, the use of low flow water fixtures allowed resource efficiency by reducing water costs by 28.63%. Concrete paved ceilings and floors, exterior and interior walls were built of AAC blocks, contributing to a 24.1% reduction in carbon emission of material used.
The Nam Long Flora Kikyo residences have received a preliminary EDGE certificate from SGS Vietnam.
